"Stories are the thing we need most in the world." I was born a bookworm but found a new passion for creating my own stories a bit later (10th grade to be exact). The class was assigned to retell a short story we had read and see what we would create. My version was enjoyed by many and I found the work had been fun. It was a thrill to plot out the details and weave a tale---but it was also a blast to entertain and connect with others. Storytelling accomplishes this in the marketing world as well. We follow Mayhem and the Travelocity Gnome like others follow Harry Potter. Campaigns are stories that connect the marketers to the consumers while achieving multiple goals. I want to become a part of that and use my skills to create and keep stories going.
My experience is varied--- allowing me to wear many hats and adapt to the work. I’ve interned with Abstrakt Marketing Group and HLK, along with some contract work and a little nonprofit work here and there. I have created content sell sheets, infographics, case studies, brochures, scripts for radio & video, snapshots, fliers, rack cards, business cards, banner ads, landing pages, websites, social media posts, and press releases.
I have a Bachelors of Arts; with a major in English and a minor in Marketing. I am currently working towards my MBA with an emphasis in Advertising at UMSL. I have taken multiple social media strategy classes and earned a certification in HootSuite as well. I know how to use Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube for professional platforms and to improve marketing campaigns. Along with using Twitter Lists, Google Analytics, SEO, YouTube Playlists, Branded/Standard Hashtags, and many other ways to optimize social media for a company. I gained experience to add to my online portfolio which can be viewed if you click on the link. I have always been interested in becoming a copywriter, proposal writer, content writer, or digital media strategist; open to any opportunity with companies or agencies.
